Civil Service Examination 2017
- On the 6thday of after final result declaration, UPSC has uploaded the cutoff marks for the civil services exam (CSE-2017). Prelim Paper-II marks were not counted in Mains-selection

What we observed / Analysis
- Prelims Cut off is Lowest in last Three Years (2015, 2016, 2017) due to Tough GS paper in Prelims 2017.
- From 2011 – 2014 Prelims Paper 2 Aptitude arks were also counted in the preparations of prelims result, so they have high cut off. I will be irrational to compare those years, with last three prelims
- Mains 2017 – Has highest Cut off (Gen Category in last three years, on account of relatively easier papers than past.
Civil Service Examination – 2016
- Prelim Paper-II marks were not counted in Mains-selection.
- In the Civil Services Examination 2016, the minimum qualifying standards/marks secured by the last recommended candidate in various categories at various stages are as under:-

- Cut off marks on the basis of GS Paper-I only. However, GS Paper-II was qualifying with 33% marks (Rule-15 of Civil Services Examination, 2016)

Civil Service Examination -2015
- In an unprecedented display of efficiency and transparency, just a day after UPSC declared the final result of Civil services exam 2015, now they’ve uploaded the cutoff marks as well.
- Prelim Paper-II marks was not counted in Mains-selection.
